In the $650 Super Deep 6-Max event, Allen Kerlin and an opponent built a pot of around 25,000 as they went to the turn with the board showing A1078. The player under the gun then bet 12,000, and Kerlin called in the small blind.

The river was the 5 and the under-the-gun player bet 17,000. Kerlin again called, and his opponent could only show QJ for a missed straight draw. Kerlin turned over AQ for top pair to win the big pot as he increased his stack up to around 130,000, good for the early chip lead.

The Connecticut native already cashed in 39th place in the $600 Deep Stack Kick Off event earlier this festival and has more than $200,000 in live tournament earnings, including two wins in the Borgata Spring Poker Open this year.
