The $500 Almighty Stack is into its first break of the opening flight, with 238 entries already on the board after four levels of play. Players will return to 400/800, with registration remaining open and plenty of time for the field to continue climbing.

One player already with a story to tell is Michael Muniz. The Queens, New York native stopped by the PokerNews live reporting table during the break after making a straight flush with 7♣5♣ on a 4♣6♣Xx3♣Xx board. Muniz said he three-bet to 58,000 on the turn before his opponent responded with a four-bet shove with A♣9♣. He quickly called, scooped a full double and change, and headed into the break with one of the healthier stacks in the room.

Muniz, a film actor and extra, is one of the more colorful characters in the field and is looking to add to his $59,500 in recorded live tournament earnings. He's already enjoyed plenty of success at Borgata this year, cashing five times, including one victory and one runner-up finish.

Elsewhere, two side events have just got underway. The $500 O.E. has attracted 21 entries in the opening level, while the $1,100 Mad Max (8-Max to 6-Max) has kicked off with four early entrants.

It's still early across the board at Borgata, but the tournament room is beginning to fill up as another busy day of the Summer Poker Open gets into full swing.
