Evagoras Evagorou is a Cypriot poker player who reached the final table of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
In his very first WSOP Main Event, Evagorou rounds out the final nine as the short stack with 22,500,000 chips.

As an amateur player, Evagorou’s competitive poker background stands in stark contrast to others at the final table. Prior to this historic summer in Las Vegas, his single recorded tournament victory was a modest $100 event held at Caesars Palace more than a decade ago.
While he may lack the extensive tournament resumes of his peers, he entered the Main Event riding a wave of quiet momentum, having already put together a highly impressive summer series in Las Vegas. Most notably, he secured a deep run in a massive $600 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack Championship event earlier in the series, securing a 15th-place finish out of a field of over 5,100 entrants.

Though he will navigate the final table as the shortest stack in play, he enters the August 3rd finale with an entire country at his back.
“It’s amazing. I am so, so happy, and it’s a dream come true. I was dreaming of this moment. This is my first Main Event that I played, and it’s a great feeling. I feel so happy. I cannot describe with words,” he said.
“My phone doesn’t stop. They send me messages, they take my picture, everybody is happy for me.”
