They say there's no rest for the wicked. And wicked is exactly what Garrett Dwire did on his first trip to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer. The St.Paul, Minnesota native outlasted a 4,622-player field to capture a WSOP gold bracelet and $210,000 in one of the last events of the summer - known as the Summer Saver.
Dwire is now back on his home turf in Minnesota and ready to battle for another title at the Roughrider Poker Tour $640 Main Event with some heavier pockets. The 24-year-old is hoping to back up the largest win of his young poker career with another victory and add to his ever-growing resume over the next couple of days.
His close friend and fellow poker pro, Joseph Osterbauer, also in his winner's photo, has just joined the field as well.
