An action-packed Day 3 of the WSOP Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event saw the remaining field of 24 players reduced to a final table of nine contenders at blistering speed. The final nine are the last ones standing from a record-breaking 977 entries, and they will return to the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel & Olympic Park Casino on August 2 to divide the biggest prizes of the €1,253,002 prize pool and decide who walks away with the title, ring, and the €210,000 first-place prize.
Lithuanian native Egidijus Matonis proved to be an unstoppable force on Day 3, securing four knockouts to play a big part in the day's rapid pace. Matonis' meteoric rise to the top took off when he had Kristjan-Jaan Kosk all in and at risk. Kosk showed pocket kings, and it was looking like Matonis would lose half his stack as he tabled pocket queens. The deck presented him with two more queens on the board, however, sending Kosk out of the tournament in 18th for €7,980 and kickstarting Matonis' ascent.
Matonis ended the day with 12,325,000, worth over 80 big blinds when the final table commences. The only other player to amass an eight-figure stack on Day 3 is Spain's David Marfil, who bagged 10,600,000 on the hunt for his first recorded live victory. Meanwhile, start-of-day chipleader Julian Selinger continued his strong performance by claiming third on the leaderboard with 6,500,000.
The most prolific name still in contention is Kai Lehto. The Finnish regular already has a Kings of Tallinn victory under his belt and will be looking to turn his 3,400,000 into a WSOP Circuit title. With 2,975,000, Roy van der Reijnst ended the day with fewer chips than he started with, but by making it to the final table, the Dutchman has improved on his 22nd place from last year, a year in which he also went runner-up in the €555 ring event.

On the other side of the coin, WSOP Circuit ring winner Rasmus Lundström was the first elimination of the day, placing 24th for €6,620. Kings of Tallinn champion Johan Karlsson quickly followed suit in 23rd for €7,980, and bracelet winner Sander Ostlyngen finished 19th for the same amount. 2023 WSOPC Tallinn Main Event champion Ignacio Garrido fell in 17th, and Anton Makejev became the highest-placed Estonian player in 16th, both also receiving €7,980. Ultimately, Hugo Loustau (10th - €12,270) was the final elimination of the night, becoming the final table bubble by losing a flip to Mateusz Dabkowski.
The final table will commence at noon local time, with 14 minutes left to play in Level 28: 75,000/150,000 with a 150,000 big blind ante. Each subsequent level will be 60 minutes long, and a break is planned after every two full levels. Day 4 will be the final day of the tournament, ending only when a winner has been crowned. The final nine players have guaranteed themselves a payout of €15,657 for making it this far. The first pay jump will be to €20,300 after one elimination, and they gradually increase as the top two will be awarded at least €140,500 each. Of course, all eyes will be on that €210,000 first-place prize, as well as the coveted WSOP Circuit Main Event title.
