Alexander Kostritsyn raised first to act and called a three-bet from Ari Engel in the hijack.
Kostritsyn check-called bets from Engel on the 4♥J♣J♠ flop and 5♠ turn and then both players checked on the 8♣ river.
Kostritsyn turned over A♠Q♦ and Engel sent his cards into the muck.
A few hands later, Ali Eslami raised from the hijack and Kostritsyn defended his big blind.
Both players checked on the 8♥5♣4♥ flop and then Eslami called a bet from Kostritsyn on the 8♦ turn.
Kostritsyn bet again after the 9♣ filled the river and Eslami let his hand go.

Walter Chambers raised from under the gun and then called a three-bet by Ari Engel on the button. Following the 9♥8♦3♥ flop, Chambers check-called and did so again on the 6♠ turn. Chambers then bet the 7♠ river when the four-liner appeared and Engel called.
Chambers revealed 4♠4♦ for a pair of fours and Engel won the pot with the A♥A♠.

Shaun Deeb won the blinds in Hold'em when he raised from the button and showed pocket tens. Yueqi Zhu and Ali Eslami won the next two pots without showdown, and Walter Chambers then raised in middle position. Deeb made it three bets, and Alexander Kostritsyn in the cutoff raised to four bets. Both blinds folded and Chambers followed suit, whereas Deeb called.
On the A♥6♠5♣ flop, Deeb check-called and had 115,000 chips behind. Deeb checked the A♠ turn and Kostritsyn bet again. After mulling it over briefly, Deeb sigh-called.

A poker player didn't mean to jam into pocket aces on the last day of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), but he sure is glad he did.
Ole Askeland, a Norwegian player with just $91,000 in prior live tournament cashes recorded by The Hendon Mob, had a bit of a misclick fairly deep in the $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em tournament, the 99th bracelet event of the summer. That misclick could end up paying him hundreds of thousands of dollars. The winner in this event, which started on Tuesday with 884 runners, will pay its champion $695,296.
At the time of publishing, the tournament was down to under 30 players, and Askeland was among the chip leaders, thanks mostly to an accident.

Kihara led out for a bet after pairing his seven on fifth street. Chambers called and Beinner called all in for his remaining stack.
Action checked through on sixth street and then Chambers folded facing a bet from Kihara on seventh.
Kihara fanned out his cards for a straight and Beinner showed he held aces-up to be eliminated in ninth place.
"Naoya, Shaun is very happy for you," Engel joked in table chat.
