Trofim fired 100,000 on the 8♠Q♣A♥ flop, and Akgul called.
A board-pairing Q♦ on the turn prompted Trofim to check-call after Akgul bet 225,000.
The 9♣ river checked through, and Trofim tabled the second nuts with A♣A♠ for a full house to win the pot.
At a nearby table, Ruslan Volkov raised to 80,000 from early position, and Maksim Shornikau three-bet to 225,000 from the next seat. Stefan-Sebastian Ionita, in the big blind, used a time bank before cold four-bet jamming for 1,315,000.
Volkov quickly got out of the way, but Shornikau agonized over the decision for some time. More than 90 seconds later, he eventually folded, surrendering the pot to Ionita.

From under the gun, Dmitry Gromov raised to 80,000, and only Georges Ghossan called from the big blind.
Ghossan check-called Gromov's continuation-bet of 55,000 on the A♠4♣2♦ flop before both players checked the 6♣ turn and the 8♦ river.
Ghossan tabled 10♣3♦ for a missed wheel draw, and Gromov revealed K♦J♣ to win the pot with king-high.

Mondrus tanked for quite some time before eventually deciding to call, slamming in the chips.

Unfortunately for Mondrus, the 8♦ river was one of Shchitnikov's outs, giving him the nut straight and bringing Mondrus' Merit Poker Cup run to an end.

Stefan-Sebastian Ionita raised to 60,000 from the hijack, and Alexander Sokolovsky jammed for around 240,000 from the small blind. Ionita made the call, and the players went to a showdown.

Sokolovsky simply needed Ionita to miss the board for his ace-high to earn him a double-up.
Sokolovsky remained ahead on the 5♥8♣4♠ flop and the 8♠ turn. However, the Q♣ was not the paint card he wanted to see, as Ionita improved to a pair of queens to win the pot and send him to the rail.
